The Breief
The client approached Arrus with the ambition to transform a historic townhouse into a residence that would preserve its heritage while embracing modern functionality. Their request was to respect the architectural integrity of the home while introducing refined comforts and design interventions that would suit a contemporary lifestyle.
Scope of Work
Arrus carefully balanced restoration and innovation throughout the project. Original architectural details such as crown moldings, fireplaces, and timber floors were preserved and restored to their former grandeur. These elements were paired with modern interventions including open-plan living areas, custom-built kitchens, and sleek bathrooms that introduced a new level of comfort and convenience. A soft, neutral palette was chosen to highlight the craftsmanship of the old structure, while curated furniture and bespoke joinery added layers of warmth and sophistication. Lighting design played a crucial role in bridging old and new, accentuating heritage features while illuminating the refreshed contemporary spaces.
